Sports Day Fun - May 2023

Wow what a day!  The sun shone and the children had so much fun trying out a range of sporting activities.  We started the day with all the children splitting into their houses and the team captains giving them a motivational team chat.  This was followed by Year 6 and 5 joining their Reception and Year 1 buddies and taking part in some sporting skills - throwing, kicking, balancing and lots of team work.  Next, Year 2 -Year 6 came outside and in their house teams they carried out a throwing event, long jump, a sprint and a long-distance run and then the relays took place.  Points were calculated from all these events and then in the afternoon the whole school, including Little Ducks, were out on the field.  We all watched the hurdles first and then everyone  took part in a running race and/or a fun race. What a lot of physical activity in 1 day!! Mrs Elliott had the best job of all, calculating the points with the result that Ellis were the winning team. Well done to everyone in Ellis and of course everyone else for taking part.
