OWLS HAVE BEEN BUSY!
Last week was an eventful week for Owls. As well as enjoying all the day to day activities in the classroom, Owls also had the opportunity to learn all about toys during a toy workshop, visit the local church and had lots of fun baking Christmas biscuits!
On Thursday we were fortunate enough to have Kay from Haslemere Museum join us to talk to the children all about toys from the past. The children brought their own toys in and made comparisons between the museum toys, some of which were up to one hundred years old, and their own toys. There was a lot of discussion around the different materials the toys were made out of, and how over the years the materials have changed, and why.

On Friday, as part of our RE unit 'Why does Christmas matter to Christians?' Owls visited Reverend Hannah at St James church. Our focus was Advent and the Christmas story. Rev Hannah had designed a tick sheet and the children were tasked to go on a hunt around the church to find the various signs of advent and the Christmas story. Some were harder to find than others! We learnt that there are many ways Advent is celebrated in church.
Finally, to top it all off, Owls had a busy couple of days baking some yummy Christmas biscuits to take home! Phew! What an amazing week!
