Nursery Funding
All 3 and 4-year-old children are eligible for 15 hours of Free Early Education (FEE), the term after they turn three. Some 3 and 4-year-old children are eligible for an additional 15 hours (giving 30 hours in total).
Parents can start using their Free Early Education from the funding period starting:
- birthday between 1 April 2020 to 31 August 2020 - September 2023 (Autumn)
- birthday between 1 September 2020 to 31 December 2020 - January 2024 (Spring)
- birthday between 1 January 2021 to 31 March 2021 - April 2024 (Summer)
You can apply for Free Early Education for 2-year-olds (FEET), the term your child turns two, but you will not receive the funded hours until the following term.
Parents can start using their Free Early Education for 2-year-olds (FEET) from the funding period starting:
- birthday between 1 September 2021 to 31 December 2021 - September 2023
The Government has announced plans to increase access to funded childcare hours to include younger children. The phased introduction of this plan begins in April 2024 when children aged two will be able to receive 15 hours of funded childcare.
