Welcome to the St James Primary School's E-News, a weekly roundup of the latest goings on at the school.

Dear Parents,
As we move towards the end the second week of term, the senior leadership team are beginning to make outline plans for a full reopening of the school whenever this may occur. Whilst it is very difficult at present to know when the government will make the decision to lift the lockdown, we are starting to think about what school will look like and how we can best meet the needs of our children, staff and school community. I think that school will be quite different when we return, not least because the experiences the children will have had whilst away from school will be very diverse. We will need to build our class and school communities again.
We also know that the children will have had different experiences and approaches to their home learning; some have loved it and some have been less enthusiastic! We understand this and when the children return we know we will need to plan the learning carefully.
We want to make sure that we are providing your child with the best education and support we can. If you think your family situation may now qualify your child/children for free school meals please check the Free School Meals letter in the portal.
In the meantime, thank you for all you are doing to support your children with their learning at home and let's hope that we all get to see each other soon.

School Notices
- Please see the leaflet in the Parent Portal regarding accessing the Elstead Food Bank. Donations can be made into the Food Bank Trolley at The Spar or delivered directly to The British Legion on Thursday mornings between 9.30 and 10.00am. If anyone wishes to donate but can’t get out, the Rector, Rev'd Hannah Moore is taking monetary donations. You can contact Hannah via the details on the flyer.

- Our request for clap for our carers photos last week was a little late in the day, so lets try again this week. Please send photos to info@st-james-elstead.surrey.sch.uk and we will display a collage next week.
