About Little Ducks
Little Ducks, the Nursery School at St James Primary, welcomes children from 2 years old. Little Ducks is located within the school site in The Lodge, adjacent to the KS1 playground.
Our core hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm, term time. Morning sessions run from 9am-12noon; afternoon sessions run from 12noon-3pm daily.
In addition to paid sessions, we offer government funded places for 3-and-4-year-olds (both 15hrs universal Funded Early Education (FEE) entitlement and 30hrs extended FEE), We also offer government funded places for 2-year-olds who are eligible for 15hrs Funded Early Education for Two Year Olds (FEET). FEE and FEET hours are ideally taken as 2.5 consecutive days during core nursery hours, term time only (38 weeks).
We are a registered nursery education provider with Surrey County Council and adhere to their Provider Agreement for funded early education for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. You can view a copy of the current provider agreement here.
Children who attend both the morning and afternoon session can have either a packed lunch from home or purchase a school lunch, provided at an additional cost of £2.70 per day. Children aged 3 or 4 and who are eligible for Free School Meals are entitled to a free school meal where they attend both the morning and afternoon session in any day. Children eat their lunch in a quiet, calm environment and adults sit with them, initiating conversation and modelling good table manners.
