Year 6 Leavers Service at Guildford Cathedral

Eagles travelled with Year 6 staff and Mrs Elliott to take part in the annual Leavers Service at Guildford Cathedral organised by Guildford Diocese. 

The service celebrates and reflects on the children's time at primary school and marks their move to secondary, looking back, giving thanks to God but also looking ahead with anticipation.  They take part in reflection activities where the they visit four prayer stations where they are encouraged to pray and think about regret, please, thank you and give thanks for a wow moment from their time at primary school. 

Three children from Eagles, Albert, Annabella and Toby were chosen to bear our school standard for the procession of standards at the start and end of the service.

As part of the service each school is given a candle to take back to school and pass on to next year’s Year 6. It will be used in our collective worship next year.
