WW1-100 results & pigeons!

What a day!

Today we all came to school in our House t-shirts to celebrate the results of the first inter-house competition of the year, the WW1-100 challenge.  Below you will see the 7 class entries that won.  The overall winner was a brilliant landscape by our year 3 entrant. 

Also below you'll see a pigeon being released.  We were joined by Mike Armitage, a pigeon racer, who talked to us about the very important role of pigeons during World War 1.  The children were fascinated by the things they did to help the war effort.  We then all went outside to set Mike's pigeons free.  They will have beaten him home easily!
