PSHE

The ethos and atmosphere at St James are a measure of the success of our provision of Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE).

It encourages children to become healthy, independent and responsible members of society as we intend that our children will play a positive role in contributing to the life of the school and the wider community. Personal, Social and Health Education also includes citizenship, aspects of drug education and sex and relationships.

At St James School all members of staff provide a positive role model for the children. A range of teaching styles is used for PSHE to meet the learning needs of all children. We place an emphasis on active learning by including the children in discussions, investigations and problem-solving activities and also use other subjects such as computing, art, drama and RE to support the PSHE objectives
