Kingfishers Prehistoric Day

Finally, we got to have our Prehistoric Day.  We had a great day exploring how people lived in Prehistoric times.  First, we spun our own wool using drop spindles, just like in Iron Age times.  Then, we weaved our spun wool.  Next, we made some pots from the Stone Age or beakers from the Bronze Age.  We carved decorations on our pots using natural tools that we collected at the common before Christmas.  We then created some Iron Age round houses, using a wattle and daub technique.  At the end of the day, we sat around a camp fire and ate the bread and soup that we made yesterday.  We went home feeling happy, in need of a wash and very tired!
