Kestrels Visit Shah Jahan Mosque

Kestrels visited Shah Jahan Mosque in Woking this week as part of their Religious Education this term.  They are learning about Islam and the importance of the mosque for Muslims.

Throughout the morning the children explored the architecture of the mosque including important symbols, listened to a talk from the mosque manager about the Five Pillars of Islam, visited the prayer halls and toured the library to look at the many Qurans housed there.

Back at school, the class spent the afternoon creating an artistic response to their trip by studying images of the mosque and creating a sketch, collage or 3D model.

Kestrels would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Shah Jahan for making us feel so welcome!
