St James E-News

19th March 2020

Welcome to the St James Primary School's E-News, a weekly roundup of the latest goings on at the school.

Latest Headteachers Blog

Dear Parents,

As you will be well aware, the government has taken the decision to close schools to all children, except those with an EHCP, who are vulnerable or whose parents are key workers. For those children we are putting together a plan for provision and for everyone else we will be posting work on the class pages of DB Primary, as well as sending home resources with your child. We will be updating work online on a regular basis, providing regular updates from myself and teachers and we will be putting in place a collection point in the school entrance which will have a box for each class which will be regularly topped up with resources. More details will follow tomorrow. We have been preparing resources over the last two weeks and aim to provide a real mixture of activities for the children.

Whilst I understand why the government has decided to close schools, I hope that we will be able to welcome the children back sometime after Easter, but if closure continues we are looking into ways of keeping school life going by holding virtual house competitions, even a virtual sports day! In these very difficult times we want to foster our huge sense of school community and give support where we can.

Thank you, once again, for all your amazing support!
