Welcome to the St James Primary School's E-News, a weekly roundup of the latest goings on at the school.

Despite the pandemic, we have been working on further improving life and learning at St James and have put in place two new initiatives. The first is the full introduction of Forest School, starting with Y2. Tamzin Greggs will be running Forest School sessions each week and using our wildlife area in school to do this. Campbell McArthur, who recently trained as a Forest School leader, is working on outdoor learning provision for the whole school. In these difficult times, outdoor learning is even more important and gives the children an opportunity to take part in healthy activities outside whilst having time to reflect and relax.
We have also reviewed our Behaviour Policy and simplified things so that it is easier to follow. Therefore, please look through the powerpoint below which gives you details of all the changes and will only take a few minutes to read. Many thanks to Liz Chambers for putting these materials together.
Warm layers - please be aware that the children need additional layers of clothing under their uniform to keep them warm in the classrooms. Many of them are saying that they are cold. We are required to keep the school well ventilated to meet government guidelines and the classrooms will be much colder than in previous years.
