St James E-News

1st October 2020

Welcome to the St James Primary School's E-News, a weekly roundup of the latest goings on at the school.

Latest Headteachers Blog

Dear Parents,

We are delighted to advise that we are introducing Forest School sessions as part of the St James Primary curriculum.

St James Forest School will be led by Mrs Greggs, a fully qualified Forest School Leader with over eight years’ experience. It will be based in our wonderful Wild Hub area which is located at the far end of the playing field.

With the guidance and support of the Forest School leader, Forest School provides children with a wide range of hands on experiences and opportunities to develop new skills whilst using their own initiative, imagination and creativity.

Forest School activities are designed to be fun, build confidence and develop connections with nature through an understanding and appreciation of the natural world around them.

The ultimate aim is that all children feel secure and know that their individual contribution is valued; helping them to build resilience as well as develop physically, emotionally and socially.

Sessions will commence with Year 2 / Robins next month, with a view to rolling them out to other year groups during the academic year.

Best wishes for a lovely weekend,

Valerie Elliott
