Aquathon - Making a Splash!!

The hot weather in July provided perfect conditions for our competitors for the 2nd St James Aquathon.

Open to all who enjoy swimming and running, it was wonderful to have 80 children signed up to the event -  serious contenders and those challenging themselves - but all out to have fun!

The new Aquathon trophy awaited this years overall winner together with certificates for each class podium.

The race poolside was started by Fee our official Aquathon referee - each child ready in the pool for a timed release and a lap of the pool, into transition where speed and safety (no untied laces!) are key before stopping the watch at the finish line after a lap of our track.

Results were announced at this weeks Sports Assembly - well done to all who took part - here are this year's winners.

Thank you to all the staff who ensured the children were ready and at the start line in time, to Fee, the non-competitors that cheered everyone home and the sports crew who timed (when not competing) and marshalled with expertise.
