Football Tournament for YearS 3, 4 and 6

On Wednesday 11th March, footballers from Years 3, 4 and 6 attended a tournament at Tillingbourne School. 

Years 3 and 4 played four games against other local schools, whilst Year 6 played three games. Years 3 and 4 came third in their group, but unfortunately did not make the semi-finals.  Archie and Eddie did an amazing job in goal and the rest of the team worked well together and were resilient to the end. 

Year 6 won two out of their three games and managed a draw in the third game.  Throughout the heats, goalkeeper Jacob did not concede a single goal.  The team made the semi-finals, which ran to extra time after a full time score of 1 all.  Then extra time led to a tense penalty shootout. Unfortunately they lost their penalties, but had played so well as a team throughout the afternoon.

A huge well done goes to all players, especially to Jack and Fin in Year 4, who stepped up to play for Year 6 and even scored three goals between them.  A high level of sportsmanship was shown by St James and you made us all proud.
