St James E-News

23rd April 2020

Welcome to the St James Primary School's E-News, a weekly roundup of the latest goings on at the school.

Latest Headteachers Blog

Dear Parents,

I would just like to thank the wider Elstead community for all the support the school has received in recent weeks. We've received some incredibly kind offers and it is all making a real difference to the children. Many of you will know about Reading Chest, the local business run by former St James parent Liz Walker, which supplies reading books to families for a subscription.  She is very kindly offering a heavily reduced subscription rate for our children this term, please find the letter in the portal.

We have also listened to your feedback about difficulties in navigating the DB Primary site to find your child's work, so we have put together a quick guide to help, please find the guide in the parent portal. We have uploaded a variety of different work but please do not feel under pressure to complete everything, we understand that our families have different circumstances with many trying to work from home as well.

Finally, we at St James Primary are embracing the virtual world further and have put together a Starting School section on our website for those families joining us this September. We still have a couple of spaces available in Reception this September so please do share this with any families you know might be interested.

Best wishes for a lovely weekend,

Valerie Elliott
