Welcome to the St James Primary School's E-News, a weekly roundup of the latest goings on at the school.

Latest Headteachers Blog

Dear Parents,

We are looking forward to celebrating Harvest next week in the church.  If you would like to contribute to our festival, we are asking for donations to Elstead Foodbank. Please click here to see the particular items that they need at the moment.

After half-term Mrs Lambert begins her maternity leave and we wish her well as she starts on the new adventure of becoming a mum!  We will keep you posted when we hear more news. Next week Miss Tahera Syeda will be joining us to work alongside Mrs Lambert, before taking responsibility for the class after the half-term break

Best wishes for a lovely weekend,

Valerie Elliott

  • Flu Clinic 21st October – all year groups.  Please follow this link to give or withdraw your consent for your child to have their flu vaccination at school, if you have not already done so.  The deadline is Monday 17th October at 4pm.
  • Inter-house Art Competition - The deadline for entries into our Inter-house Art Competition which requires the children to create a design for a crown that could be worn by King Charles III has been extended to Monday, 17th October.  Details are in the letter on the Parent Portal.  We look forward to sharing the results on Thursday 20th October.  Don't forget that the children will need to wear their house tee shirts that day.
  • Lost Property -  Please help us by ensuring all items of clothing are named as these are returned to the children. Un-named or incorrectly named (second hand) items are put in lost property in the office.  Please make sure you check that your child's items are still named regularly as labels can come off in the wash or fade.  The very large amount of lost property will be on display in The Gazebo next week and will be recycled/disposed of after Friday.
  • Muddy Church This Sunday, 16th October - The St James Family Service Team are excited to let you know that we have our first Muddy Church this Sunday (postponed from last month).  We will be exploring nature, learning about the importance of caring for our world, making nature-inspired instruments and wildflower seed bombs while keeping warm with a hot chocolate or two. Everyone is welcome to join us at The Moat at 10:30am
  • Pet Services at St Michaels & All Angels, Thursley and St Mary's, Shackleford - please see details below.

  • Drop in sessions with our Home School Link Worker, Helen Owen - The role of the Home School Link Worker (HSLW) is to support families with a range of issues at home or at school. 1:1 sessions are available on Wednesdays. To book an  appointment, email Helen on hslw@st-james-elstead.surrey.sch.uk or ring the school office to request a call back.
