Dear Parents,
On Friday 20th March we are celebrating diversity and inclusion for all children by taking part in World Down Syndrome Day. The children can come in mufti (and house t-shirts for the house lunch), and bring a donation for Stepping Stones DS, who are a local parent-led Down Syndrome support group. We would particularly like the children to wear odd socks. Why socks? The socks look a little like the tiny building blocks called chromosomes that make every person unique and people with Down Syndrome have an extra 21st chromosome. We will be having a special assembly in the afternoon and will be joined by some of our families who have family members with Down Syndrome.
Best wishes,
Valerie Elliott
