St James E-News

11th March 2022

Welcome to the St James Primary School's E-News, a weekly roundup of the latest goings on at the school.

Latest Headteachers Blog

Dear Parents,

This week has been a challenge for us.  We have seen our highest number of Covid cases amongst children and staff and an extraordinary rate of staff absence due to ill health, Covid and otherwise.  We continue to ask that you do not send your children to school if they are not completely well and that you arrange a PCR test for them if they have any of the recognised symptoms.

Thank you for your continued support and patience.  We look forward to spring and warmer and sunnier weather which will help all of us.

We have put some links in our notices to useful, short articles that offer advice on how to talk to your child about the war in Ukraine. In school our priority is to provide a happy, safe, normal school experience for the children, with space to talk about worries if they need to.

Next week is Red Nose Day and we have decided to use our usual mufti day to let children show their support for peace in Ukraine and the world by either wearing red, yellow or blue next Friday. Comic relief have stated they are supporting organisations in Ukraine. Further details are given below.

Best wishes for a lovely weekend,

Valerie Elliott
