St James E-News

11th June 2020

Welcome to the St James Primary School's E-News, a weekly roundup of the latest goings on at the school.

Latest Headteachers Blog

Dear Parents,

It was with mixed feelings that we started to say goodbye to our Y6s this week as this is their last physical time in the school. Although much has had to change, we all enjoyed a Leavers' service and assembly together, the children received their hoodies and even had an individual school photo!  One of the most poignant moments for me was watching the Y6s say goodbye to their Penguins buddies, but having to socially distance.

Whilst the government has announced that not all children will return before September, we are working on some transition ideas for children in Y2-5 so we hope they will have the opportunity to see their old and new class teachers before the end of term.  In the meantime look out for the home learning packs if you requested one.  They will be available in the class boxes from Monday afternoon next week.

Best wishes,

Valerie Elliott

The programme is brilliant.  It embeds children’s understanding in a bright and engaging way.” Katie Porter

If you signed up for Nessy at the beginning of this term but have not yet accessed the programme, it is still possible to do so.  Please see the instructions about how to log on in Whole School Letters via the parents portal on the website.  Please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Berrill if you have any queries.
