Dear Parents,

This half-term is usually a very busy one and despite all that is happening around us, we still hope to make things fun for the children. The PTA are working on a number of events and have booked an online Panto for all the children just before Christmas. We plan to have Christmas parties and are discussing a school Christmas production which will be recorded and shared with you.

Next week we will be observing Remembrance Day and will be placing a wreath at the war memorial. We are making seven poppies that will stand in the Church yard and today are sending home some electronic poppy colouring sheets for the children. These have been sent to us by the Elstead British Legion with a request that any completed sheets are displayed in families' front windows this weekend, as a way of marking Remembrance as a village.

Next Friday we will be marking Children in Need and the children can come in spotty clothes Mufti, but we won't be asking for donations this year. We had planned to do our usual whole school ramble, but we have had to cancel this due to the national lockdown. We will be talking to the children in school about Children in Need and hopefully running some in school activities.

School Notices

Communication - keeping everyone safe at this time means that we need to minimise physical contact and maintain social distance. We realise that it is very important that parents are able to communicate with their children's teachers. Please make use of the class email addresses to contact your child's teachers bearing in mind that they are unlikely to be able to read emails during the school day. Each email address begins with the class name followed by @st-james-elstead.surrey.sch.uk. E.g. robins@st-james-elstead.surrey.sch.uk
Wear it Pink - thank you for supporting the Wear It Pink day before the half term holiday. £707 was raised including gift aid.
Common Visit are now on the calendar for the second half of the term. Alerts will be sent as usual.
