St James E-News

4th June 2020

Welcome to the St James Primary School's E-News, a weekly roundup of the latest goings on at the school.

Latest Headteachers Blog

Dear Parents,

It has been really lovely to welcome back more of the children into school this week! We have missed them very much and I think we all felt lifted by the sound of children's voices around the school. The week has gone as smoothly as we could have hoped and the children have been brilliant at following the stringent social distancing guidelines we have had to put into place. But most of all, everyone has looked happy to be back.

Next week we look forward to welcoming back Penguins class and the teachers have been very busy preparing the classrooms for their arrival. There are lots of exciting activities planned! We are also preparing home packs for those children at home in Y2-5, to support the work units we have been setting online since April.

Finally, I'd like to thank all the parents for your ongoing support of your child's education at home or at school, we know it has been a challenge at times! When all the children finally return to school we know many of them will be eager to learn and quickly close learning gaps. The government have signalled that they will soon be announcing further plans about this term and September, so once we know what those are we will work quickly to put things in place. We are already looking at ideas for the children's transition to their new class, possibly towards the end of term.

Best wishes,

Valerie Elliott
